The list of stars appearing at the 61st Golden Spike Ostrava closed 5 days before the start of the event. Athletes who have won a total of 24 Olympic medals in Tokyo will appear at the start. They will include three really big names: Gianmarco Tamberi, Miltiadis Tentoglou and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn. Of course, the Czech medallists Jakub Vadlejch and Vítězslav Veselý must not be missing.

Camacho-Quinn and Ali

In 100m hurdles, we are looking forward to an attack on Sharika Nelvis' meet record of 12.55 set in 2015.  It will be challenged by Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico. Jasmine set her personal best of 12.26 and has achieved a time of under 12.40 another 5 times in her career. This year, she has already recorded the time of 12.39. On the other hand, Nia Ali won the world title in 2019. Her lifetime best is 12.34 and she has already clocked 12.59 this year after her second maternity leave. Considering that Olympic bronze medallist Megan Tapper and world indoor champion Cyrena Samba-Mayela will also appear at the start, the hurdles will sure be a sprinter's highlight of the Golden Spike event. This will also be a challenge for  Czech number one Helena Jiranová.
