10.04.2026 | Divine Sprinter Noah Lyles to Race at the 65th Ostrava Golden Spike 2026!
The 65th Ostrava Golden Spike, a prestigious meeting of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold, is shifting into top gear this year! The phenomenal Noah Lyles, the reigning king of global sprinting, is coming to Ostrava. Furthermore, the organizers have prepared something truly special—Lyles will test his speed on the Vítkovice track in a unique 150m race!
The Golden Spike is in for a spectacular premiere. The appearance of the Olympic champion and world sprint champion is a massive event that promises an unforgettable spectacle. This extraordinary runner’s career began its meteoric rise in 2016 when he became the World U20 Champion in the 100m. He is the current Olympic 100m champion from Paris, holds a total of 8 World Championship titles (100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay), and two Olympic bronze medals in the 200m (2021, 2024).
His personal bests of 9.79s in the 100m and especially 19.31s in the 200m are among the fastest in history. In the past week, his wedding to Jamaican 400m runner Junelle Bromfield has also become a major topic for lifestyle magazines.
"I am very happy to be competing at the Golden Spike in Ostrava, Czech Republic. It is truly special for me because I’ve been following this meeting for years. I’ve seen world-leading performances here, world records, and the great talents of our sport. I hope to make history myself. I’ll be running the 150 meters and hopefully attacking the world best. Don’t miss out, get your tickets. June 16th, see you there!" — Noah Lyles
